Detroit Lions embracing 'bromance season’ with T
Kerby Joseph wasn't making a statement, just showing love for his teammate and draftmate Jameson Williams. The Lions' second-year safety met with the media Thursday after the team's fifth practice of OTA's wearing a 'Free Jamo' T-shirt that he said a fan had sent him on Twitter.
Williams has been suspended for six games for violating the NFL's gambling policy, but can practice with the Lions through the offseason program and training camp.
"The shirt really just say I’m glad Jamo's still out here working with us," said Joseph. "He knows what he did, but he's trying to get better and he wants to get better, we want to get better. We’re going to grow from it and learn from it. This is just in support of my guy, my dog Jamo, man. That's all it is."

Asked if the shirt was any kind of statement against the NFL's gambling rules when the league promotes and profits from its partnerships with gambling companies, Joseph said, "It ain't none of that."
"It's just I love my dog, my dog out here still practicing, going hard, wanting to get better, that's all. This is me, this is what I like to do, I like to support my guys," Joseph said.
Williams was one of four Lions players popped in an NFL gambling probe earlier this offseason, and the team currently has a fifth under investigation. Dan Campbell said Thursday the organization is doubling down on its efforts to educate its players on the league's gambling rules. Joseph, for the record, said, "Me personally, I don't gamble."
Joseph's tee wasn't the only one that caught eyes Thursday in Allen Park. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson stepped to the podium with a picture of defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn duct-taped to the front of his shirt.
"Heard it's bromance season," he said with a smile.
This is in continuation of an offseason bit. GM Brad Holmes originally wore a T-shirt to a press conference with a picture on the front of Dan Campbell, so Campbell responded by wearing a T-shirt with a picture of Holmes wearing the picture of Campbell.
Love is in the air in Allen Park.
