You know how some people spend days leading up to Memorial Day trying to find their song of the summer? Well, I do that with dresses.

The thrill I get when I find a flowy summer dress that's so timeless, so darling and so perfectly perfect that my heart gets caught in my throat is otherwordly. Like, the world seems clearer, and my tiny one-bedroom apartment suddenly becomes the garden where Mia had her foot-popping kiss in The Princess Diaries. More or less.

This year, I got that feeling from this summer floral midi dress while mindlessly scrolling for dress deals at Nordstrom Rack (which are so good right now). It honestly might be love at first sight. Just don't tell my fiancé I said that.

The refined cottagecore-y midi dress has so many stunning details without being overwhelming. There are the tie straps attached to a square neckline that match the tiered border trim, the universally flattering high waistline and the breezy skirt. Then, of course, there's the floral pattern because florals for summer are never overrated. It's all right on trend for summer 2023, but it will also seriously stand the test of time.
