Active wear that's office appropriate? Count me in, says Ali Ball

When it comes to running tops, shorts, leggings and shoes, I’ve got more than enough kit to make closing my wardrobe doors part of my cross-training routine. But when it comes to everyday outfits I can wear to the office, I’m often left rotating the same couple of pieces. Sure, gym leggings aren't exactly out of place at RW HQ, but some days I want something that's a little more formal and put together.

Enter Lululemon's On The Move collection. Essentially, it's activewear-esque clothing that you can wear to the office, a post-run brunch or simply out and about. There are no heavy, easily-creasible materials - just the same lightweight, soft fabrics used in the brand's performance wear.

If I can find a way to make running gear work-appropriate, I'll do it. And Lululemon have nailed it here. While the main collection will be launching around September, there are a few pieces you can shop now. These are my top picks:

Warning: You’re going to want these in more than one colour. I’ve got both the bone and black pants, and like to style them with an oversized tee and a blazer. They’re a relaxed fit, but I’d recommend sizing up anyway – I’m a UK size 8 and wear a medium, which provides plenty of room. The fabric is a soft crinkle texture, and I’ve found it to be pretty crease-resistant, which makes these good for throwing on after a lunchtime run.

Identical to the above, but a cropped version. Again, I'd recommend sizing up if you want a baggier fit.

I think this might be one of the most comfortable tees I've ever worn - really bringing Lulu's 'science of feel' philosophy to life. It's a slightly baggier fit, so if you like a bit more coverage this is one for you. Otherwise, it looks great tucked into trousers or shorts.

'Plush' is the first word that springs to mind when you step into these slides. They're some of the comfiest I've ever worn, with an almost-silk like cushioning to the under strap. There's plenty of cool colours to choose from too, and they pair well with the woven pants above, for those warmer days at work.

This half-zip cropped hoodie comes in over 15 different colours, and can be dressed up with a pair of wide leg trousers. It's a slightly baggy, oversized fit, so there's no need to size up. The material is made from a cotton-blend, which is super soft against the skin, and it has a lightweight warmth - ideal for when you need an extra layer in the summer months.

The soft feel of this cotton dress makes it great for the summer months where you want to stay cool.

Paired with the right shoes and jacket, you can dress these track pants up or down. We like the green/khaki pair best, but there's eight different colours available.

These shorts have a lightweight, crisp feel to them, and coupled with a high rise and relaxed fit, make them suitable for work, travel, and beyond. I've even been hiking in them, thanks to the sweat-wicking material. Lululemon also uses its buttery-soft Nulu fabric on the inside of the waistband for added comfort.
