Boys Tennis: No. 16 Princeton Day tops Ranney in South, Non

Fourth-seeded Princeton, No. 16 in the NJ.com Top 20, defeated second-seeded Ranney, 5-0, in the South Jersey, Non-Public sectional tournament final on Monday in Tinton Falls.

The championship is Princeton Day's first in program history. The Panthers joined the NJSIAA just last year.

Jason Wu at third singles led the way with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Reed Hall. First doubles Oliver Silverio and Steven Li also beat Luke Greco and Rowan Johnson, 6-0, 6-2, while second doubles Farhan Mohammad and Jaylen won by the same score as well against Jason Liberman and Harris Marcus.

The top two singles matches were competitive as Heyang Li defeated Braden Chavez at the first spot, 4-6, 6-4, (11-9), while Joshua Chu won 6-3, 7-5 over Max Goldenberg.

Princeton Day now makes the short trip to Mercer County Park on Wednesday for the Non-Public group final against No. 3 Newark Academy at 1:00 p.m.
